Resources

Welcome to the Resources page! This is where I'll post links to anything I use or mention regularly, along with other things that I think might be helpful to you. This page will be updated occasionally, as I find or remember more resources that have been helpful to me or that I want to share.

Climate Actions:

tiny spinning earth Stop Line 3: Line 3 is a proposed pipeline expansion that would destroy untouched wetlands and violate the treaty rights of the Anishinaabe peoples. It is not safe, and it would contribute huge amounts to climate change if allowed to go through.

tiny spinning earth Sunrise Movement: The Sunrise Movement has various hubs all over the world - you can use their hub finder to find one near you, or start one yourself.

tiny spinning earth Transition Towns: Transition is a worldwide movement that aims to make communities more resilient and better able to cope with climate change and other issues. You can look up your town to see if there's already a program, or you can start one yourself.

Zero Waste:

tiny spinning earth Polly Barks: a zero waste website, now archived. You can still sign up for her newsletter through the site.

tiny spinning earth Wasteland Rebel: a zero waste blog by Shia Su, one of the first I came across. It has a lot of recipes and suggestions that might be helpful.

Books:

tiny spinning earth Z Library is an excellent resource for ebooks.

tiny spinning earth Project Gutenberg also has many ebooks, but they tend to be older, since the project only publishes books that are in the public domain.

tiny spinning earth Librivox is an audiobook site similar to the Project Gutenberg, and in fact many of their audiobooks are read from Gutenberg files.

tiny spinning earth The Internet Sacred Text Archive has many sacred and esoteric texts available online, sorted by religion/tradition.

Shopping:

I'm hesitant to include shopping links on my blog, because I can only vouch for my own experiences with various companies, and also because what is local or useful to me may not be local or useful to you. On the other hand, I would very much have liked to have had a list of places to start buying from instead when I first started my research, so for now I'm choosing to add these links. I don't make any commission or other benefit from these.

tiny spinning earth Earth Hero: A general zero-waste/eco-friendly/plastic-free store. You can probably find most if not all of their products elsewhere - the main benefit of this site is the ability to have everything come to you in one order, instead of many separate ones.

tiny spinning earth Ethique: My personal favorite shampoo/conditioner bars. They are unfortunately not local to me, so I'm looking for alternatives, but in the meantime these are better than liquid shampoo and conditioner. This brand is not available on Earth Hero, so I'm listing it separately.
